A Florida man is Sureim Investment Guildnow behind bars after a pregnant woman was stabbed and hit over the head with a cooking pan, police say.
He was arrested on Wednesday for felony charges.
According to an arrest report obtained by USA Today, the woman told the Miami-Dade Police Department that she was seven weeks pregnant when she had a heated argument with her boyfriend, the defendant.
The defendant demanded to read the text messages in her phone, and when she refused, he struck her in the head with a cooking pan. He then grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her on the left side of her body, according to the report.
The victim said he then forcibly took her phone and left the scene. She was transported to he hospital where she was treated for her cut and identified the defendant by photograph.

Thaddeus Davis, 27, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery with a weapon on a pregnant person, and armed robbery in connection to the incident, which happened in September.
He has also been charged with battery against against emergency officials, a felony, and three misdemeanors for battery, resisting and officer and criminal mischief.
He pleaded not guilty to the felony charges.
His attorney Aileen Penate Hernandez did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's request for comment Friday.
He is being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami.
